Logistics for Marine

Consolidated freight, documentation and delivery to site. Applied to the constraints that define marine: deck machinery, propulsion and shipboard systems.

Overview

Logistics in the marine sector

Marine supply is a logistics discipline as much as an engineering one: the vessel moves, the port call is short, and the part has to be there when it arrives. We work to port schedules, supply corrosion-resistant specifications as standard, and provide class documentation where the equipment requires it.

Equipment that is manufactured on time can still arrive late. We coordinate freight from supplier to site, consolidate shipments to reduce cost and handling, prepare export and customs documentation correctly the first time, and plan the last leg to site around access, lifting and receiving constraints.

Sector constraints

  • Port call windows

Delivery planned to the vessel schedule, with agent coordination at the receiving port.

  • Corrosion resistance

Material and coating specification appropriate to salt water and deck exposure.

  • Class documentation

Certification packages prepared for class society review where required.

Remote mine site supplied through consolidated quarterly shipments

Challenge
Component supply arrived in fragmented consignments with unpredictable customs clearance, and inland transport to site added weeks that were rarely planned for.
Result
Clearance delays fell substantially, freight cost per consignment reduced by 22%, and the site moved from reactive ordering to a planned replenishment cycle.

FAQ

Logistics for Marine — common questions

Port call windows: Delivery planned to the vessel schedule, with agent coordination at the receiving port. That shapes how the service is run, from the supplier set we go to through to the documentation delivered with the goods.

Yes. We coordinate with the vessel agent and plan dispatch against the port call window, including express freight where the schedule is tight.

Yes, including offshore installations, remote mine sites and vessels in port. Those journeys are planned as a whole rather than handed to a freight forwarder as an afterthought.
